On May 13 President Obama announced his nomination of Rocco Landesman to chair the National Endowment for the Arts. Landesman, who was born in St. Louis, is a Broadway producer, and is responsible for bringing important shows to the great white way, including Angels in America, Proof, Smokey Joe’s Café, The Grapes of Wrath and Caroline, Or Change.
